CHLORAKA AMPHITHEATRE

Post by J B »

Just had an email from Morrelli Events, two queries ...

I presume that Kendal & Morrelli have gone their own separate ways?

Where is the Chloraka Ampitheatre, and is it any better/worse/different than the one at Tala?

:)

I can answer the first and confirm your assumption....

I know nothing of the two amphitheatres though.

I have never actually been to the Chloraka amphitheatre, so can't compare it to the one at Tala.
It's easy enough to find on Google Earth: if travelling from Paphos take the lower road to Chloraka (Eleutherias Ave) and turn left onto Nikola Pentara in the centre of Chloraka. It appears to be a short way down on the left

Isn't that the upper road? :?

I always thought the lower rd was TOTK?

JB - there are two main roads through Chlorakas. Driving from Paphos, there is a fork at the EKO garage. The lower road is the left hand fork and goes past the Community Board offices etc. The upper road goes past Jim Peck's. The roads re-join at Papantniou's.

Parking is very restricted ie minute car park by the ampitheatre, otherwise on-road parking. The ampitheatre is about a 1/4 - 1/3 the size of Tala ampitheatre. Here is a link to a location map: http://www.klickeasy.com/locations/chlo ... hitheatre/

Just keep going up hill from the Duckpond and it's on the right. You can't miss it. Park on-road and walk.

Is there a website link in your email? A search for 'Morelli events' just brings up 'Kendall Events' but I would like to know what events Morelli is organising too.

Thanks

Jeanne

There is a cafeteria at Tala which has been going for some time that there are signs saying that you cannot bring your own food and drink.

The website promoting the tickets there says "No cool boxes allowed into the amphitheatre. Food and drink available from the amphitheatre cafe. Don’t forget to bring your cushion.".

If you go you can also have a look at the work that has been done to destroy the adjacent hillside by someone planning to build a road and at least 3 new houses. According to the mukhtar there is no planning permission for houses and permission to build a road has been refused. The hill is wrecked and it will never grow back.

Aah, picked up on your comment "the Tala amphitheatre is huge".

Never mind.
