This is the beautiful flower of Capparis spinosa which I came across whilst out walking the other day. It is an edible flower but we know the plant by a much more common name, the Caper Bush as it produces the caper berries (the fruit) which we buy pickled in supermarkets! It's actually quite abundant in countries with semiarid or arid climates like Cyprus.

Lovely photo Shane, I hope you know that there are always snakes close to large Caper Bushes. Locals are out picking the leaves at the moment as they sell them to Restaurants which pickle them instead to buy them in Supermarkets. I had them as a side dish with my nice Barracuda last Saturday in my favorite Fish Tavern. (delicious)

Lovely pic Shane, flowers are one of my greatest pleasures and I always try to have fresh flowers in the house all year round.
