Sanctuary of Apollon Ylatis - Limassol

Apollon Ylatis, god of the woodland, was the protector of Curium. According to archaeological sources he was worshipped here from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. His sanctuary was an important religious centre. It consisted of Apollo’s temple, which has been partly restored, pilgrim halls, the ‘palaistra’, a bath complex, and a holy precinct.

The sanctuary is located about 2.5 kilometres west of the ancient rural city of Kourion, at Episkopi, in Limassol.

Monday – Sunday 08:30 – 19:30 (16/4 – 15/9)

Keep an eye open for the UNESCO open day, it's the same day each year - certain sites in Cyprus are FREE on that day
We've been to Hylatis several times but our 2 friends who came with us had never been - hence going on a day when there was no charge.
Followed by lunch at Curium, of course

I believe it was advertised on one of the Cyprus Government websites when I found out about it....
