The Gibraltar Deal - Yet Another Giveaway

Post by clive of payia »

For those of us that may have served in Gibraltar or have a connection with it.

The unpopular Starmer Labour shambles masquerading as a government claims there will be no loss of sovereignty over the border deal with Spain. This is rubbish. If Gibraltar has to accept EU laws whenever they add or change them, and impose taxes and charges when demanded, I call that a material loss of sovereignty? The Gibraltarians haven’t been given the chance to express their views on this rotten deal in the form of a Referendum. The only good thing about the Treaty is the get out clause insisted on by the Gibraltarians where a future governments of the UK and/or Gibraltar can exercise a unilateral exit without penalties, which may well happen sooner than the Spanish and the EU think.
