Sea You Beach Bar Update

Post by Dominic »

After our recent report on the fate of the Sea You Beach Bar, we held out some hope that the restaurant would remain in its present form, with only the owners changing. It is now clear from this film that that is not the case. The latest (albeit speculative) word to hit our ears is that a new restaurant will spring up in its place. Hopefully it will remain true to the spirit of the orginal tavern which brought such pleasure to so many.

In my opinion a new restaurant business will think twice to be next to the planned desalination factory.....

Here part of the article from CM yesterday

I don't think the picture necessarily indicates the site of the desalination plant. It is just a picture of Potima Bay. The last I heard of the proposed plants, there had been objections as to its proposed siting from Kissonerga and Akamas municipalities.

The Kissonerga people wanted the site moved inland about 150 metres, whereas the Akamas chaps wanted it somewhere else entirely.

Given the size of Potima Bay, there are many places closer to Coral Bay where the desalination unit could be sited.

The main objection was that it would clash with the new marina.
