Hi
My licence due for renewal in March. Does anyone have a 'phone number to book an appointment at the Citizen Advice in the General Post Office please.
Also what documents do I need to take? I've just moved and wondered if any bills are required?
Thank you
Aphrodite
Renewal of driving licence
Re: Renewal of driving licence
Documents will depend upon your age. If you are over 70 you need a doctor to sign a form to say you are fit to drive.
You can call in at the post office (with no appointment) to collect the forms and ask then what documents you need

Over 70 a woman needs the following docs:
The TOM 153 and TOM 7D form; Original Yellow slip plus copy; Passport plus copy; Driving Licence; EAC bills from the last 6 months plus copies; If EAC bills are in husband's name you also need your wedding certificate plus copy.

Oh, so there's no eye test required from an optician now, I had to have a eye test certificate last time being over 70, please inform if I'm wrong, thank you.

Hi,yes,if over 70,you need a form from the doctor with eye test, the doctor usually has the form, there is a charge for this.
Re: Renewal of driving licence
Legally you just need the form that the doctor has to sign to say that you are fit to drive.
Sometimes the doctor performs an eye test. But some people feel the need to have an eye test at an opticians that they give to show to the doctor..
