Koili, Kamares and tala

Post by Dominic »

Starting on the outskirts of Koili, we drive through the newly-renovated village before taking one of the scenic routes to Tala via Kamares Village. Once in Tala we head up to the monastery via Tala Monastery Cat Sanctuary, so you can see where it is located.

Koili is pronounced as Kili - in Greek oi = pronounced as i.

Sorry to correct Dominic but it sounded funny to me.

Please don't apologise. I welcome any corrections. It was ages before I started pronouncing Foinikas as Finikas, much to my friend's amusement.

I still feel weird saying yeroSKIbou as well.

But seriously, please do point out any errors.

At least you can say Tala rather than Tar Lar as some Brits do! :)

Reminds me of an old boss. She was having her engagement party at her home in East Dulwich. I was sat in my local in Downham trying to work out where it was, and asked somebody there who was a local postman. He looked a bit puzzled for a while before bursting out laughing. The house was actually in Peckham.
