. Individual SMS Update Service for residence permits:

Post by sueb »

Has any one used this service from the immigration web site?

https://www.mip.gov.cy/dmmip/md.nsf/home/home?openform

If so please can you indicate where you find the relevant reference number from the document given after payment.

Many thanks

Hi Sue, yes, we used recently. It is the application number on the receipt that you get for the €30, towards right hand side.

When we had our appointment early Sept, we were told cards are expected in 4/5 months. Having checked a few weeks ago, our applications were saying “approved.” We checked a week later, they had moved from approved to valid. We decided to go down to immigration last Thurs, more in hope than expectation, it was fairly quiet, but hey presto cards were there, collected, almost 2 months since initial appointment. Service has obviously improved & speedier. 👏👏. Good luck, Ian.

Thanks all for the help on this.

Silly me I was still struggling. The reason I was using my phone number to check on my husbands document. I would think its another security check.
All good for us 'Your permit is valid'. I presume we can pick them up?
It is passport and yellow slip to be taken to collect them?

Thanks again.

We didn’t receive any mail/email, John, hence we checked a couple of times, first the response was approved, a week later, response was valid. No mail advice received, we chanced it at Immigration, and hey presto, success, cards received! Good luck.

Hi Sue, yes, when our message came back “valid” we chanced it at Immigration, called in, more in hope than expectation, but success, cards received. Just go straight to the reception desk, the lady took our passports and receipts from the €30 application fee. We then had to sign to receive cards. Our initial appointment was early Sept. Good luck. Update.

Found that my phone would not send the txt. A contract phone. Husbands pay as you go worked for both of our reference numbers.

Went to collect today. The front office was all closed up. Saying closed today. People were waiting for appointments.
I take it is the front reception desk we go to collect them from?

Will go again later in the week.

Yes, Sue, at Immigration, 2nd floor, in waiting room just go straight to reception window. The lady occasionally pulls the blind down/closes window for 5 mins while catching up on paper work! Ian.

Good Morning All

Today received a letter to say our "Residence Permit has been issued" 30 days to collect- the letter dated 9th Oct.
Will be going again tomorrow to try and pick them up.

Really impressed with the service of the system. As our appointment was booked in April for 20th August and all sorted by 13th November. Had thought it could take 4 to 6 months before we got the documents.

Collected today. Had to wait only 20 minutes. Good for another 10 years.
Saw boxes and boxes of cards needing collection.
