Kleious and Romantica Restaurant

Post by Dominic »

After our last wander around Kato Paphos, we noticed a road that looked like it might be interesting. Here then, is our journey down Kleious Street. We also finally take a wander around the shell that used to be Romantica Restaurant.

Used to be a very busy street with Koh-i-Nor, Carob Tree and Zaza restaurants. Later with Les Amis (now in Coral Bay)

Koh-i-nor obviously moved to Kissonerga. I used to like their curries. Last I heard though was they had been incorporated into the Fly Again Pub in Argaka with a much-reduced menu. A shame.

I drove all the way from Polis to Paphos at least once a month 25 years ago for dinner, to enjoy the food in Koh-i-nor. At that time it was in Paphos the most popular Indian restaurant. Their garlic naan bread to start with .....delicious. It was always worth the long journey.

In Kleious you passed Michael's Restaurant without comment, as you were talking about the kiosk opposite. It's a good place that I have been going to, on and off for over 20 years. Greek/international food and well worth a visit.

I did wonder if Michael’s Tavern was still open, I remember it from the 1980s, very sad to see Romantica Restaurant it was a very popular family run eatery for many years
