Minthis Hills must be very proud to implement Med9 summit...

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Not much mentioned on CM, however a large article in the local press....

Top nobs from Europe but also from Egypt, Jordan will be surprised how nice the Paphos hinterland is at Minthis hills. Not to forget the excellent kitchen they have there. I enjoyed several times their buffet at Sundays.

The main road through Minthis hills will be closed nearly all day between 6 AM and 10 PM on Friday!!!!!

Google translation: (Chad=Tsada)

"The preparations for tomorrow's MED9 meeting in Paphos in the presence of the president of the European Commission are feverish. The leaders of the Mediterranean states of Europe are meeting on Friday, in the presence of the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at the "Minthis" resort in Chad.
The Republic of Cyprus presides over the MED-9 this year. Apart from Cyprus, the MED 9 group includes Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia. All countries will be represented by their Heads of State or Government except Portugal who will be represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The King of Jordan Abtala has been invited and will attend the meeting. The president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, was also invited to the meeting, which will deal particularly with the dramatic developments in the region, but he will not be able to participate.

Tomorrow morning, before the start of the session, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, together with President Christodoulidis, will inaugurate the modern hemodialysis unit, the construction of which was financed by the EU, at the Paphos hospital.

According to the program that has been announced, the arrivals of the foreign leaders at the Paphos International Airport will be completed shortly before noon and immediately after their departure to Chad, bilateral meetings will take place. A working lunch and two joint sessions on EU relations will follow. - of Jordan and for the Mediterranean priorities regarding the new institutional cycle. A joint press conference of the Med9 heads of state and government is scheduled for 6 pm. The meeting will conclude with a social dinner for leaders, spouses and partners."

Ha Ha. I remember a friend on his retirement being treated by his company to a meal at the Riverside Inn at Bray. He said the plates were large but with tiny portions so nipped in for fish & chips on my way home

Fish n chips in Bray are brilliant, served with coleslaw. We had friends visiting last week and they really enjoyed the local cuisine. We had planned to take them to a different taverna each night, but after going to Londis Perasma on Monday, we returned each night and they tried different local dishes. Certainly nothing looked like the food served at Minthis.
