From https://pafoslive.com.cy/%CE%B5%CF%81%C ... B5%CE%B9/ :

"The contractor's crews at the construction site of the Pafos-Polis road are working normally, however, the pace is slow, according to estimates by local actors and public works officials."

The same article also mentions the time that the motorway supposed to be finished this year, which is wrong.

here the translated part:
"It is also asking for a 33-month extension to complete the project which, according to the contract, should be completed before the end of the current year."

Fact is that work started July 1 in 2022 with 42 month for completion, which would be end of 2025...

It is a long while since I have seen any activity with the earthwork for the new motorway

Has anyone got an update on the present situation? Have all the builders been 'laid off'?

I came across this yesterday - sadly nothing encouraging (I really want them to get working on it again) -

https://pafoslive.com.cy/%ce%b1%cf%80%c ... %bf%cf%85/

From postponement to postponement for the Paphos-Polis road

At the beginning of July, after a meeting with the president and delegation of the EBE Paphos, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, assured that the Ministry is in negotiations with the construction company of the Paphos-Town road.
He had even promised that in 15 to 20 days he would clear up the whole issue. Not only the 20 days, but the whole of July has passed and now he is preparing us for a definitive answer around the end of August. In the disputes between the state and the company, our position is clear. The construction company should not lose, but it should not consider that it should have an unaffordable profit at the expense of the Cypriot state.

A solution should be found immediately so that the project can continue and be completed as soon as possible, since it is not in the interest of the Province nor the state to have any possible involvement or freezing of the project.
