While long-awaited crematorium plans still pending

Concerns have been raised by long term residents of Peyia about the state of the municipality’s “foreign” cemetery. Residents contacted the Cyprus Mail this week seeking answers about the site’s overpopulation and challenging access to graves.

I wish they would stop calling the graveyard for non-orthodox residents the British cemetery. There is no British cemetery in Peyia.

If you actually mean the British Cementery at Kolossi, a friend of our was buried there 12 years ago, is now almost full, the British cem is opposite the cyp cem, home long since you been there.

My opinion, it is a great shame that even after death we can't even be buried without segregation playing a part.

I was there around a year ago. They were opening up a new field next to the existing cemetery.
