What on Earth is going on in the UK?

In this instance I am not referring to the riots. I am referring to the State's attempt at trying to control Social Media. How long will it be before they have put a block on the likes of Twitter?

I ask, because it looks like the UK Police have blocked access to their website from anybody outside of the UK.

Now, I am all for people telling the truth online. But how are people supposed to be able to verify the stuff they are sharing is accurate if they cannot access the Police website for confirmation?

Clearly. It works for me now too though, so they obviously relented. It was a thing for a while earlier in the day though, according to Twitter.
