Is there really panic in Cyprus

Post by 71 Trans Am »

I ask because this article was in the Daily Express today and most articles can be taken with a pinch of salt.

Panic in Cyprus as 30k tourists abandon country leaving hotels empty in £30m crisis

Looked to be plenty of tourists around town over the week end. Our son and family came out in May staying at the Leonardo Laura hotel and that seemed pretty full at the time.

It's sensationalism from the Express, no surprise but there is a large element of truth behind the story.

A person in a senior position at a wellknown hotel chain in Paphos told us that booking are well down.

With the anti-tourist campaign gaining traction in Spain, we can expect bookings and arrivals to increase.

Strange that the person mentioned in the article has a Paphos Hotel Chain - Maybe he is the only one with a fall in bookings across his chain
