With one of the clusters being centred around Polemi village and the council offices, I wonder if the council premises will be open all day now, or still closed in the afternoons ??

Trev,
There are more questions than answers relating to the newLocal Govt shuffle! I guess that we will hopefully learn more how it works practically in due course..... Though somewhere I have read that the first 2 months are sort of trial and error which Govt will evaluate in September.

Article dated 14 September 2023 - that's all Google came up with!

The new municipality encompasses a significant portion of the Akamas National Forest Park, in addition to Peyia municipality. The included communities are Kissonerga, Akoursos, Kathikas, Pano Arodes, Kato Arodes, and Ineia.

The newest update of the Gov. Portal shows that also Akoursos belongs to the new Municipality "Dimos Akama"

Max, do you have a link for the Government Portal please and the relevant section?
Not had any joy finding this particular information and have always preferred graphics to text.

I am still puzzled as to why Souskiou and Maronas are listed as communities.

Of course, with the economies of scale these changes will make, we can all look forward to reductions in water & refuse bills. I can live in hope.
