I’ve noticed that Lofos Jan hasn’t been on the forum for a long time
Her posts were a font of information to members

Your right - Dominic will be able to confirm the last post on here and if she was on the eastern forum Steve may be able to confirm the situation there.

It seems that some lady members have reduced, or stopped posting on PL.

I haven't seen Kili1 posts for a while, or Photo Lady, maybe I have just not seen them.

Lofos-Jan last posted in November. I have sent her a PM and let you know if I get a response. Kili1 was last active on the 12th June.

Photo Lady now lives near Lancaster, in the UK, so has no reason to post regularly. Thought about her the other day when we went to Ladies Mile, as she once got very stuck in her car crossing the salt lake to the beach, which is why we are always very careful.

Photo Lady has lived there for some time, she has been posting quite often, since moving to the UK.

The PM hasn't been opened I'm afraid. So nothing to report.

Last post from Jim in October. Last login in January.

I think I've seen him post on our Facebook Group since then, though I could be wrong. There are nearly 35,000 members there, and a lot of the remaining posters here are there too. So perhaps he is one of them?

Let's face it, this type of forum is yesterday's technology. It's a shame, as it is much better technology than today's. But there you go. The only thing it doesn't have is the ability to easily notify you when messages are posted etc. But it is much, much easier to find an old thread on a forum than on a Facebook Group. And don't get me started on Tiktok...

From cyprus living to paphos life I have seen so many great characters pass away. Paphos Al was a great bloke. I think that the ageing members are getting on. I have had 15 yrs of stories and how you all came to cyprus. So for all of you.
Thanks Stelios xx

Re " The only thing it doesn't have is the ability to easily notify you when messages are posted "

I get a Gmail when a new Private Message is waiting for me. And at least one prominent poster prefers to keep in touch via the PM system..
One thing you do have to watch out for is the 'In Box' being full ie 50 messages there. 50 is the maximum allowed so number 51 will not show up as there is no room for it.. Just delete some old ones .

You are right, as we are mostly anonymous, other than places of residence, there wouldn't necessarily be anyone to tell us, if an older member passes on. I started posting about 22years ago on Cyprus Living, and then when Jim retired, I joined Paphos Life.

Time moves on, but I'm grateful for all the members who have helped my husband and I out over the years. And in depth discussions about all and sundry.

I also receive an email notifying me when a private message is waiting for me.
