Fire Latest
I went out to see what the latest situation was this morning. The fire is still burning quite heavily in places, but all the villages seemed out of danger for the time being. Remember though, I am not an expert. There will be a film along later but the countryside has been badly burned around Polemi, Psathi, Agios Dimitrianos, Choulou and Lemona. The fire brigade are still everywhere, (along with the Electricity Board replacing telegraph poles) and the helicopters and planes are also on site.

Re: Fire Update
The Fire Fighters have been kept busy over the last 24 hours, battling multiple blazes that started between the villages of Polemi and Drinia. In this footage we survey the scenes using our drone. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Emergency Services for the amazing work they have done through this trying time, and extend our sympathies to all those affected by the fires.

Re: Fire Update
This is a driving film we made around the fire-damaged areas this morning. Since making this film the wind seems to have picked up again and the smoke is returning. There is also another fire in Giolou.

Re: Fire Update
Paphos fire possibly started at illegal landfill
Drone footage from Paphos appears to show that the fire which devasted the Polemi area earlier in the week could have started at an illegal landfill, raising concerns that rampant fly-tipping in the countryside could potentially prove to be a significant danger during heatwaves especially.
The drone footage was posted by the web outlet Paphos Life on YouTube.
