Is there a big fire someplace I can see lots off smoke and smell it enough to block the sun in Choulou,

The power's off too. Let's hope the fire service gets it under control without too much destruction being wrought.

Thinking of all you hillbillies who live in this area. Hope and pray you are all safe. Rosemary read in local news online that several villages and isolated houses had been evacuated.
We've been to Ladies Mile today and when we left at 6pm, could see the smoke drifting over the foothills behind Limassol. Drove back in no sunshine because of the smoke.

There is still a lot of smoke about though. Wind has re-ignited some of the embers. Also there is another fire in Giolou.

God bless the fire service boys ,what a fantastic and dangerous job they have done,we had to leave Choulou last night along with many others as the village was nearly engulfed by fire,can't believe the guys have got the power back on just now,fantastic job by them as well.true heroes all of them,thanks guys !!!

The electric came back on at 8 pm last night after 28 hour been off, I can still smell smoke in the air outside.

AS I had no electric yesterday I went to the olive tree for lunch.
The first part of the video is coming out of Choulou to the Ezousa river bridge the second part is driving in to Psathi.
Look as the sides of the roads to see the fire damage this is of my dash cam.
