Just checking, we have applied for our appointment to change our MEU3 to MUKW3 card. Is the appointment in the same Immigration building as where we went for our MEU3 years back??

Cheers

Mmmmm.interesting posts on this matter, however nobody has mentioned what is the time for having to be the proud owner of a biometric card.
I was told in my local oasis it was August 23 2026. :?

Chris &Pam,
Yes you are correct, its the same building. You will be ushered to a room off the Reception/ waiting room. The actual procedure is quite quick. You have your photo taken and your fingerprints.

Legal advice down the pub tends to be as good as the paper its written on.

If anyone knows of any offical statement or website that says the yellow slips MEU1 or MEU3 issued to UK nationals are going to become obsolete on 23 August 2026 then perphaps they can share a link to the website.

There are new rules for ID cards for EU citizens and their families but these dont appear to cover most UK nationals.

Picked up our Biometric cards this morning.
Applied and paid for them on 13 Dec 23.
Issued on 14 Feb 24
Immigration police said once issued they would notify by post/text or phone call to come and collect.

None of that happened and was passing Famagusta District Police HQ today and called in and there they were waiting for us to collect.

Good morning one and all.

Today was our appointment.
Update on how it went.

Appointment 7.40am
In and out by 8.10am having had the paperwork processed, photos and finger prints taken.

The lady appeared a bit stern at first. Till I trapped my thumb in the ring binder file with all our documents in. :D

On getting on application form out she said " you need one for each of you" which we had.
Copies of Yellow slip and passport needed.

Produced 5 years electricity bills- paper copies (In my husbands name) Then was asked for our marrigae certificate.
Did also take 5 years bank statements. These were not needed.

The lady did say you can download a electricty statement for the 5 years from the app. Wish I had known this before. Then again we have moved house in the last 6 months, unsure how that would have worked out.

All in all great experience. Had expected it to be more involved. Cost 30 euro's each for bio metric card. Our original " yellow slip" was from 2008.

3 to 6 months before the cards will be ready.
Came away with a " Application Form Reception Document" With a refence number.

No agent required was very easy.
Happy to be back on the Island!

Took both copies and orginals. Better than monthly bank statements.
The lady did say you can download a statement of your electricity account on their web site. I did not know this before hand. Plus we have moved house in the last 7 months.

Go to their web site EAC . It shows you how to get 'Online Consumption Histroy Statement".

Looks like they have given step by step instructions. I hope this helps
