Basically, I love B/W photography and after every trip I normally spend an hour on the plane fiddling with the photo editor to produce B/W versions of my favourite photos.
Thank you. A lot of it is about contrast. Cyprus has wonderful light at all times of year, but in December it’s a bit softer because the sun is lower, so you get better shadow. Endless blue skies can be great, but they’re not amazing for black-and-white photography. A mixture of stonework, sun, blue sky and clouds is perfect, and we do get plenty of that around Christmas.
Can’t argue with that, Max. Your photos are fantastic and you are quite right that none of them would look nearly as good in B/W. It’s an interesting sideline, though. I’m a huge fan of Ansel Adams’ and Sebastião Salgado’s landscapes.cyprusmax47 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 11:38 am I like color pics much more than black and white, specially in Winter when everything is green with all the flowers and nice cloud formations.
I think it shows much more what Cyprus can offer. However against-the-lights shots even in August, like this photo can have the effect of B/W with a great contrast.
