TV repair

Post by Polly »

Can anyone please recommend someone for TV repair? The sound on my television has gone very weak. Preferably someone who will come out. Chlorakas area.

Thanks

Do you have a sound bar? Also pull out the leads and replace sometimes fixes it,

Appreciate the tip WHL. Tried it and I think it made some difference but only slightly. The sound bar is right up to maximum while it was rarely even to half way. It is worse on catchup when I really struggle to hear the audio.

On our one there is a couple of settings, hdm arc/ optical, im not technical so i cant give you any clearer tips, but it makes a difference if we dont click on the correct one

I'll have to have a look for that. Just rang one TV repair place twice this morning. No pickup so I guess they are not in operation anymore

Check the sound setting on the tv box.
I can control the sound from both the tv box and the tv.

Look for a volume control button it should look like a triangle with the right side vertical up and the bottom flat.
Have the tv on and the free view box both on then press the top part of the volume button and see if the sound comes up.

Press the menu button on the freeview remote, and look for the volume settings

If you have 2 x remotes (box and tv) check if one volume- has been accidentaly reduced.

It's fixed! Seems that the volume on the TV box must have been inadvertently turned down. I didn't even realise it had a volume control! But then I am only a mere woman and not a technically minded man.
Many, many thanks to all who responded.
