There used to be an asbsestos mine in the village of Amiantos, up in the Troodos Mountains. It closed in 1988, but prior to that it was the biggest one in Europe. Naturally enough, a Hospital was built nearby, to take care of the workers. When the mine closed, the hospital too was abandoned, and is now slowly being reclaimed by nature.
Let's go and have a look.

Less so than a walk through a village abandoned after the invasion. At least this placed closed down because the mine shut. I still can't get over the amount of abandoneded cars there were in Pano Amiantos though.
