Organic farming increased 173%....

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Slowly, but better than nothing is the increase of organic farming in Cyprus. The figure of 173% is a bit outdated as we have 2023 now but we are on the right path.
When I did organic fruit farming at Latchi area 1988-1998 all the farmers around me called me mad Max when I was using a lawnmower to cut the weeds between the trees, instead of spraying pesticides. "You spray once in March Roundup and then sit in the coffee shop and relax" what they used to say to me.

Anyhow here the full report from CMail:

It makes me wonder how little interest is on here for this topic with only a few views so far. (65) There is a lot of moaning about pesticides though.
On the other hand there are more than 3600 clicks on Sausage Rolls which surprises me not really.... :)

Max, I'm interested! In fact I've found locally a small family enterprise who are growing all kinds of organic veggies on their land which they sell in their own little shop situated on the side of a back road, which is adjacent to their fields. Its a wonderful source for seasonal produce, usually picked that day.So all very fresh and tasty.
I think that the sooner all farmers realise that there is a market for reasonably priced fresh organic food, the better for consumers.
