Forgot Password

Post by Firefly »

I bought a Chromebook to take with me on holiday to Cyprus, last April. Stupidly, I didn't write down my password, and now my old Lenovo laptop is on it's way out, I thought I could just use the Chromebook instead.

But no, I can't remember my password, is there an easy way to re-set it, or is all hope lost?

Thanks for any replies.

I don't know anything about Chromebooks but as it's not been used since last April presumably, there isn't anything useful on it, is there?

Could you do a factory reset perhaps?

Ring SOS computers and ask them to talk you through it.

Just done a quick Google search to see if I can find a solution

Chromebook asking for old password - FIX
1. Just below the box where the Chromebook is asking for your old password, you should see a link that says"Forgot your old password?", ...
2. On the next page, you will be presented with two options. ...
3. You should now be able to log into your Chromebook with your current password.

Hi, and thanks for the replies.

J.B no useful info now, as I explained, I want to use it to replace my old Lenovo.

Trevor, thanks for that, but as I'm in the UK, the call might be a bit expensive.

I will follow the 'forgot password' link, but I have found in the past that whilst they will allow you to set a new password, they then ask for the old one

Thanks again.
