Chloraka Coast Path Renovations

Post by Dominic »

The whole coast path from Paphos Castle to Sandy Beach is being renovated. In this film we fly the drone over the section between the Elysium and Venus Beach that runs past Tomb of the Kings. In the film you can see that the path itself is closed and a bulldozer is busy working on it. However, if you don't mind walking across the rocks, you can still get from Venus Beach to the Elysium. You can see in this film several people doing just that.

Thanks for the video, Dominic. But I couldn't workout exactly where it was, as I didn't see any familiar landmarks? There's still some patches of coastal path which are less accessible.

I wonder if the path from the Castle towards Lighthouse beach is still closed? There was little wrong with the part which was paved in 2016 just before Paphos's year as "Capital of (European)Culture the following year. It looks as if from Dominic's recent harbour video's as if the new paved area by the Castle has been finished?

Although the new works going on around the harbour look to be going well, it really upsets me that so far no attempt has been made to repair the ravages caused by the rain and the sea to the Castle walls. It will be a real shame if that historical building is allowed to collapse. It is after all the main landmark of the harbour area. There is precious little being left of Paphos's traditional buildings. Nearly everything is being modernised! Or in this case ignored.
