Central Paphos

Post by Dominic »

In this film we drive through central Paphos to see how the Roadworks are progressing. A new roundabout is being built by the main Papantoniou Supermarket. This will be a great help as in the past that was a bit of a bottleneck.

When it is all finished it will be lovely!

Thanks for another interesting video. I'll be very glad when the works on Ellados Ave are finally finished as I have to use this road twice a week! At times it seemed quite risky as ''elph and safety' was a bit patchy... now however the upper part of the road is nearly finished!
With new trees already planted it is going to look very nice too...

Another great video, what you may not notice is that there are 5 sets of pelican crossing between Lidl and the Garden of Eden, approximately 300 metres. If that trend continues to Papantonio’s supermarket there will be about 20 + sets of crossings in about 1500 meters of road.

Yes, I've noticed a large number of traffic lights for pedestrian crossings as you have mentioned being installed. It's going to make Ellados Ave a bit like ToTK Rd.Stop start, stop, start and so on.
There's nothing to say that pedestrians will actually use them.. many here will just dive across the road just where it suits them. Plus some drivers may jump the lights. As happens on ToTK rd. The police are seldom in evidence and there are no speed cameras.
However the authorities are doing their bit for road safety.
