They are only using a big car as this is Research and Development so there is also no price involved at the moment. If you listened to the whole article you would hear that BMW are working on this project with Toyota, the biggest car manufacturer in the world, You cannot seriously expect us to believe that you are more aware of the market than they are. I would imagine that the ultimate goal would be a Series 1 or Corolla type of carbut who knows where development will take them. Compare your current phone to the size of the original computers your phone is much more powerful, and a fraction of the size. As for AI you'll have to ask Dominic.
We are all aware that you think that EV's are the answer but even KIA / Hyundai, who make a hell of a lot of them, say that they would find it very difficult to produce a ' People's Car ' due to the high cost of batteries. Production of EV's appears to be falling.
