The price observatory of the Consumer Protection Service recorded a big increase in the prices of potatoes and tomatoes, according to data released on Friday. One litre of milk has gone up from around €1.09 to as much as €1.59 in the last year...

We are paying in the 1-60 plus region, and more than that in village stores

Vine tomatoes at Lidl TOTK 2.29/kg, this morning, not too bad for the time of the year....potatoes nice quality 0.90/kg

Theofanis at Tsada has three prices, we always get the cheapest €1.50 a kilo yesterday, they also have some veg at half price on Sundays and Wednesdays, and the butcher is decent aswell

I agree in my opinion their fruit and veg, and meat are second rate only thing we buy are tools, ice creamLife Is Good wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 11:54 am I have to say that with the odd exception Lidl is the dearest place to shop now. We pop in once every 4-6 weeks for specific items but otherwise use Paps.

I find generally the prices of fruit and veg are reasonable in Paps, many of them locally sourced. However, I often buy bananas at Lidl. Probably because of their faster turnover, you can buy fresher ones that haven't over ripened in the shop.

Lidl bananas aren’t local ones and imported...I find local ones better

Lidl is so expensive these days and much quieter, there are fewer & fewer items I purchase there.
