Can someone please advise me as to how many days before an MOT certificate is due to expire can a car be taken for an MOT test here in Cyprus?

I stand to be corrected but I think you can take a car for it's MOT test at anytime during it's two year validity. The new certificate is simply dated the day of the test.

As ronk will know the link is referring to testing in the UK.

But as others have said, you can get it tested at any time but the 2 years MOT runs from the date of the test.

The only danger is if the police is catching you with expired MOT. Recently I was late 1/2 year to renew MOT of my second car but had no problem at the garage and the new document got a full 2 year duration.
