How to register your drone:

http://www.mcw.gov.cy/mcw/dca/dca.nsf/A ... enDocument

Permit for Aerial Photography:

Once I have confirmed that the advice in those links is valid, by registering my own drone, I will add the info to the useful information section.

There are rules for operating drones be it for pleasure or business. See Cyprus Drone Reporting Facebook page for details www.facebook.com/CypDroneReport as they are trying to educate people on the requirements and flying safely. Note: For recreational use a permit and license is not required so long as open category rules are followed. For flying outside of the open category rules and/or commercially related then the special category rules apply for which an operating permit and also individual drone pilot licenses are required. Information is also available on the requirements at www.360ifly.com.

I registered my drone a year ago and never received confirmation. I now have a second model and will try and register that one as well but no one ever responds to emails.

Cypriots don't seem to like email, or leaving messages on phones.

You have to send the registration document by email so I stupidly thought they would respond by email confirming registration.
