Please feel free to post your efforts on this thread, yes those shots are oldish ones, I went down this morning to take up to date snaps, I gave up and drove back, avoid if possible the old town. And some parts are just as much a building site as the few areas that are nearly there.

Agree with those who say the future looking good for the town, again I feel for the many who have lost their business's and we can all hope the town does remain better for the upgrades, I never mourn the past it is time for the old town to spring into a new dawn and a new future.

With the windy weather today, we took a stroll around the old town and ate lunch at Laonas. Lunch was great as usual. If you haven’t eaten here, we’ll worth a try.

The new old town, in my opinion, hasn’t yet worked. New pavements, roadways and seats has modernised a look at a plethora of empty shops, scruffy shops and boarded up premises.

Before, you could argue that the place was authentically scruffy. Now the new parts emphasise the old and scruffy. Cables still hanging out walls. Water meter hanging over steps. All in all, it will take at least 3 years, if at all, to modernise the place. As is usual, any ongoing building work is damaging the work thats been done.

I sympathise with the owners put out of business by the closures. But in reality, Paphos can’t support so many shops and you can only bear to see a few shoe shops with “Sale - 30%-79% off”

Not more than 10. I find it sad and blame the municipality in not considering the overall picture.

Kennedy square looks great. But walk 50 yards and see dereliction.
