The weather over the past days has not had excessively high temperatures but they did have high humidities, driving the heat index up, making life uncomfortable. Hopefully, the humidity will drop over the next few days, making life more comfortable. I agree that we may have isolated thunderstorms, particularly on Thursday and Friday but not excluded before then, mainly in the early afternoons.

....and Anarita. Several years ago we had our flat roof resealed with two coats. The day was bright and sunny, no clouds, no rain forecast. Shortly after the second coat went on, one solitary cloud made it's way over and it tipped down for several minutes. How unlucky can you be?

On a side note. Quite a few people have posted that they water the garden everyday, what is the reason for this
I give the garden a good watering once a week and the plant's are perfect,,?

That's bull.

I just used an apostrophe for an abbreviation (That's). That had nothing to do with possession. And you write "The dog at its ball", not "The dog ate it's ball". The possessive form of "it" is "its". What's more, the infographic you posted can't even spell "possession".

If you are going to correct somebody, do it correctly.

There are two main reasons. We have very poor soil, and trial and error has shown us that pot plants and ones in troughs need watering once a day. The garden centre also recommended it ..

You've lost me are you having a pop at my spelling /grammar?
If you are I didn't realise we needed to have some sort of English degree to be allowed to post?
Very tiresome when the grammer police are on patrol.

I must admit, I like well-written English because it lends more credibility to the text. I admit to having occasionally made remarks for flagrant breaches, but usually when the error may change the meaning. The use and misuse of the apostrophe is classical.

When I was at school correct English Grammar was thought to be very important. One example was when applying for a job.Poor use of the English grammar might hinder one's chances of being successful, or even to be short listed as it gave a 'boss' the impression of a careless and semi illiterate individual. If educational qualifications were considered important, a GCE 'O' level in English Language was very useful.
Is this still of use in the modern work place, even though computers and laptops mean that good hand writing is much less important?
