Supporting this site

Post by Mark »

I have never met, or know Dominic,

However thanks to this site, I know how to fill in a complicated tax return

Apply for a drivers license

Get information on GESY

Know how to avoid roadworks

Get info on new attractions

Enjoyed many blogs

And many other areas of help

I don’t post often, but check at least twice a day on updates…….but it dawned on me, this is all provided at a cost, which to be honest most of us are oblivious to. I have on a few occasions donated a few euros to support the site, I hope I am not alone, as I for one would hate to lose this valuable and local information source.

Donate, buy a coffee

I should have added the posts by Max on photovoltaics, my last bill was €30 thanks to advice on this site, well worth a donation.

Apologies Dominic, posts like this may embarrass you, but…..you deserve a donation to support what you are doing for people in Cyprus, people thinking of moving to Cyprus who need information. And voyeurs like myself who like to know what is happening generally.

Thank you for your kind words and for the contribution.

In terms of our income, the majority comes from the SEO and Social Media work we do for other companies. They pay us monthly to manage their Facebook accounts and do Facebook and Instagram advertising on their behalf. advertising on social media can be a minefield if you don't know what you are doing. We work to agreed budgets etc allowing businesses to get on with what they really want to be doing.

Sounds like I am writing ad copy to promote ourselves now...

Anyway, we have a few site sponsors who we are very grateful too. Notably Green Air, SAS, Computer SOS, Shipshape and Elean. Most of the holiday company ads are, quite frankly, no good for raising income. People may use them to get more info on a holiday, but then they seem to plug the info into a price comparison site which means we get zero. Of all our affiliate links, Nord VPN has been the only one that has come close to providing any income.

So yes, every contribution helps. Thank you!

Now, in terms of the actual content of the forum, I have no control over that*. The good comes from the contributors, like Max, and all the other people who provide useful information. The forum is what you, the membere, make it to be. So if it is useful, give yourselves a pat on the back.

* ok, I can remove duff posts, but I was referring to the creation of content.
