It looks like that the Church is getting all permits to built one of the largest hotel projects in Yeroskipou on their land.
Here part of the article in CMail:
"The archbishopric is close to getting the green light for building a five-star hotel in Geroskipou, Paphos, at an estimated cost of €100 million.
Filed years ago, the initial paperwork was held up because of the discovery of an ancient aqueduct on the site. The planners had to amend and re-file the application, to ensure the antiquities are not tampered with. As a solution, a glass walkway leading to the hotel’s entrance, would, reportedly, to be built over the antiquities.
The new plans have been given the go-ahead by the Antiquities Department, paving the way for the project to secure a building permit. Once the permit is issued, construction of the hotel is expected to take around two-and-a-half years."

There were several posts about this project in the past years and I mentioned already that a glass walkway, similar to excavation sites in center Paphos near Municipality, would be also a solution for that Church project. It would be also an attraction for guests of this hotel to be able to see what is underneath....

Well the Bishop must be happy! Wonder what percentage of the total site will be covered with concrete? I noticed that there is no mention of outdoor facilities such as outdoor swimming pools etc which 'highroller'guests who come Paphos might expect. Also only 46 car parking spaces.
But on the credit side, at least the archaeological site excavations have been done. Covering some of it with a glass roof is also good.

Well, the whole Eden City project will cost more than 3 billion Euro, however the hotel and apartment blocks are only the start as this drawing shows us

I hope they have done extensive research into future holiday numbers, I can see people taking less holidays, as the price of travel sky rockets etc?

There will be always people with enough money looking for something special and don't care what the price for travelling will be. As far as I know there are not too many extra-class hotels at the Paphos/Yeroskipou coastline. (yet) The only problem I can see after this hotel is finished, when they continue to built the whole Eden City project in front of it with artificial island etc etc with an endless building time....

In the illustration these new buildings look completely out of scale with their surroundings, as most other buildings in Paphos are still low rise by comparison. Paphos had previously been unique in Cyprus as the only town which wasn't crowded with high rise buildings, Nicosia and Limassol are the islands main business centres and are rapidly throwing up more and more high rise blocks to accommodate these them.
Paphos is/was different, mainly a holiday town! more relaxed and laid back. Now it is a University town, but land has been allocated for it to be built. It's a pity in my opinion that property speculators are moving in to fill the coastal strip towards Gereskipou with alien looking multistory concete buildings.
