MPs discuss fuel price cap
Re: MPs discuss fuel price cap
There are various factors affecting the price of fuel at the pumps. Obviously cost of oil is one, but the biggest chunk is taxation. Surely the government can put a cap on the tax level immediately. They can then deal with the fuel companies and possible profiteering. And I don't mean knock 10 or 20p a litre off tax. I mean set a physical maximum levy per litre. Picking an arbitrary figure, lets say a max of 1 euro per litre tax on fuel. That way, any further increase in crude prices will have a lower affect on pump prices, and profiteering will be more visible.

If they reduce the tax then the garage owners will put in on for them self’s.
And then say people are already paying that price.
And line there pockets more!

The price of heating diesel keeps rising yet they can't be selling much therefore not buying much.
