Very quiet Jim.... They have a liking to sit on your feet for some strange reason.

These will eat from your hand and take sweet garden peas from a cocktail stick. It's like feeding a pair of baby birds 😊

Their owners are in Spain for a few days so we're popping in to let them out, feed and clean then make sure they're tucked up inside later in the day.

Ruby is fine until they walk towards her - then she scuttles backwards at a rate of knots 😃

How do you stop a tortoise from falling into the swimming pool? We were thinking of getting one, but I would dread having to fish a dead one out if it fell in.

You could put one of Lloyds fences around it ;-)

Or some kind of small perimeter fence, but remember tortoises can dig down a fair way so don't put a fence into grass! One of the tortoises we're looking after is called "Digger" and the owners have barricaded parts of their garden off and warned us if we cannot find him one day, just look for his backside sticking up out of the flower beds :-)

They can also climb over small hurdles..... ;-)

Still thinking about getting one?

Actually, I am looking for reasons not to get one. If for instance, it could be claimed that they could attack a rabbit, then our daughter would definitely stop suggesting the idea.

Little baby ones are seriously cute though.

Hmmm... I don't think the wabbit will be in much danger.

Looks like you're stuffed Dominic 😊
