The ideal car for our Cyprus climate.....?

Post by cyprusmax47 »

After many years development time one can order now a car with integrated solar cells which allows you to drive 70 km per sunny day, charged with the power of the sun. So roughly 11,000 km per year with our Cyprus sun. For me it would be great as I am driving much less km's than that. Once fully charged I could drive for month without recharging from a plug, just leave the car a couple of hours in sunshine every day.... great!

Following the small production run of the Lightyear 0, the company plans to make a more affordable model at a starting price of €30,000 (RM139,000). Production is set to start in late 2024 or early 2025.

I wonder how it will be in sunny countries like Cyprus. Over here in the summer many drivers when they park their vehicles look for a shady spot. Some supermarkets even provide shaded areas for parking and some have fully enclosed car parks..

Very James Bond ish in its looks! A car for the future. But its range of 70km, would get you to Limassol, but not Nicosia!
Fun for a buyer with lots of spare cash, and who has other means of more conventional transport....

I suggest that you read the link I provided and also the link somebody else did.

The Lightyear 0 will get 388 miles of range — and 40 miles on solar alone, so fully charged it is Paphos-Nicosia and back and the batteries are still half charged...

I also thought that the car looked very big. Maybe too big for the current restricted access to the Ellados area of Paphos, where it seems Mouse and I both need to go. Never mind getting caught in long queues of traffic at times.
I prefer to drive my nippy small car which is quite economical to run in terms of mpg...

Max's super car seems a prototype car of the future for those with a deep pocket...

Might be the ideal car for the Cyprus climate, but how many of the Cyprus population can afford or want to spend that amount on a car, hardly any is the answer, and of the few that could spend that dosh,
do you really think how many miles per cents, is in their thinking?
