Solar Cat Repeller

Post by Iris 2 »

Hi

Does anyone know anywhere that sells these?

We've just arrived to find 30 to 40 lots of mess in our decrotive stones...and it's not pleasant!

Cheers

We bought a very expensive one from the States and I think due to the environment it lasted about three months.
My neighbour has the pleasure of feeding all these "adorable" balls of fluff, we have the pleasure of scraping their feaces up. They know not to s¥*t on their benefactors doorstep.
We keep all the soil borders very wet which appears to work, expensive, yes.

This shop sells animal repeller, however only with batteries.

I tried myself to stop neighbours cats sitting on my car with lots of black pepper, widely spread on the floor, but they just walked over it, again and again....

We had the problem of the local cats using our flower beds as a toilet, we bought stones/large pebbles and covered the soil, problem solved.

Put lots of Chilli on the terrace furniture which we turned upside down, they slept on it.
The only way is for all these Do Gooders is to stop interfering with nature and stop feeding them.

I used chilli powder on the soil around my plants, it worked a treat. There are cats around the area where I live, but I think they all got the 'message'. None foul, the flower bed!Though one of them now sleeps under a bushy plant, where it on the soil around my plants, it worked a treat. There are cats around the area where I live no damage.
I also agree, I don't feed visiting cats.

My wifes pride and joy is her garden and it's very sad to see the damage they do to all her hard work, 900 square metres that spends long hours keeping immaculate.
Most of the strays I see coming to our property have collars and tags and are generally fatter than me and and to areme just parsites

How do you deal with solar cats? My guess is to chase them with solar dogs. Find a medium-sized feral dog with a good bark and let it roam in the garden: there should be no difficulty because statistically there are several hundred thousand of them wandering around the country. Remember to feed it well and give it plenty to drink. It will come to love you and you will be greeted with a beautiful wag of the tail.

Just my experience in the UK but electronic deterants did not work for me. In my case it was mice & moles so called in the extermination experts but a bit drastic when dealing with a domestic animal. Good luck

You say you have just arrived so perhaps your now in residence they will stay away, cats are generally a private creature with regards to the toilet.
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !

Thanks again for all the replies!

We were also told dried filter coffee granuales (which we had in the cupboard) but that didn't work. Generally 2 lots per night so it really is annoying.

The solar devices work for us in the UK hence that being my default plan, although I know a few people who had had no luck with the.

I may knock the door and ask them to clean it up every day or so...there's cats mess...

Cheers

The 'man in the pub' had a similar problem.
Neighbours denied that it was their cats and suggested it was local strays.
Cat owner eventually moved house and problem disappeared!

Although my wife and I are not fond of cats or dogs we, like most people would never harm them and apart from running around like a Banshee screaming at them to get out of the garden our options are limited.

Hera are a few suggestions from a cat owner.
If your neiighbours are approachable suggest they buy some cat litter trays you ccould offer to contribte.
Get a spray water bottle and when cats enter your garden give them a quick shot, they soon get the message they are not welcome and the water does not harm them. A frined of ours tried the scnic cat scarers and they cast eventually got used to them so waste of money. I hope this helps.

I support the water treatment, with the use of a water pistol, I have convinced a neighbour's cat that trying to get through my cat flap is a bad idea.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

I've used fallen cones off trees placed in and around in my flower beds in the past, free and plenty of them on the ground of any forest. Cats don't like them.

The cheapest and easiest option to get rid of cats fouling your flower beds is as I previously suggested, liberally putting chilli powder on all patches of bare soil in your flower bed. Top it up as required, until cats realise that your flowerbeds are not pleasant places for their toilet. They don't like the smell!
But it doesn't harm either your plants! Or the cats. So for us chilli powder was the 'go to'..remedy!

These adorable little fluffy things decided to nightly use my newly laid astro turf as their :? :? wc each night.
Their deposits where very hard to remove and leave a stain,A guy ( down at the pub of course ) suggested to spray diluted disinfectant each or every other night on the area they use...Magic! they have gone :D .
Oh,being the generous soul i am i dug in my moth balled wallet and bought the guy a beer.
