Aphrodite's Roadworks

Post by Dominic »

Petra tou Romiou, or Aphrodite's Rock is a firm favourite with visitors to Paphos. Unfortunately, the coast road that runs to Pissouri has been closed for the last couple of years, due to erosion. The work is nearing completion so we took our drone to see how things were progressing.

We also had a quick look at Melanda Beach on the opposite side of Pissouri. You can see that footage at the end of this film.

Good stuff Dominic, looks like it is coming along nicely....................If they have got any hardcore left, might be an idea to sort out that road to the Melanda Beach Restaurant, it's a bit of shocker that one !!

Wasn't Aphrodite's Rock a 1960s hit?

Thanks Dominic, very interesting piece of film. It's easier to see why it is taking so long to repair and restore this scenic bit of road. Will be great when it finally reopens again!

The drone shows the complexity of the works, progressing, it’s a very scenic route which has been missed
