Re: Pension increase notification
I got mine a couple of weeks ago. Didn't look when it was posted but my birthday cards have taken between 2 and 4 weeks to get here.
Re: Pension increase notification
I live in the UK but haven't received mine as yet, neither State Pension nor my private one.

Re: Pension increase notification
UK pension increase is 3.1%, so take your current pension and add 3.1%.

Re: Pension increase notification
With the old pension I understand it is based on the basic pension amount and people have various additions depending on their contribution history. However, many people who have the old pension do not receive an update of how their state pension is made up after receiving the document with the initial calculations when they first claimed it.
Whereas with the new pension which came into effect on 6 April 2016 then it is calculated as an overall increase, as Paul has posted.
Re: Pension increase notification
I wonder how much it costs the UK government to send letters out to people with individual amounts when all the pensioners have to do is add the % onto their last payment.

Some accountants use this annual letter as proof of income when completing the annual Cyprus tax returns.
Also required if a person who is in receipt of a UK state pension wants to open a bank account as proof of income.
As I commented earlier not everyone gets the flat rate 3.1% increase on the total amount of their pension.
Re: Pension increase notification
Ours arrived this Tuesday just gone. I think it was postmarked Rotterdam as does a lot of post from UK government agencies.
Re: Pension increase notification
It's not so simple as to just add a percentage. I did that last year, and found that I was receiving less. When I queried this, I was told that the increase only applied to part of my pension.

Re: Pension increase notification
UK inflation rate is currently 6.2%, exactly half of the 3.1% increase that many pensioners will get.

Re: Pension increase notification
Received my letter today dated 12/02/2022 and the increase works out at 3.43% no idea how that is worked out.
Re: Pension increase notification
Got my letter and low and behold, my state pension paid into my bank account yesterday was LESS than last month !
Has this happened to anyone else ?

Re: Pension increase notification
Received our letters yesterday and they were posted five weeks ago. We sent out “life certificates” back and they took five days …
Re: Pension increase notification
Mac, can I ask you how you know the 'life certificates' took only 5 days to be delivered in the UK

Re: Pension increase notification
We sent them by registered post and tracked them online. They were signed for by “Dean”.
Re: Pension increase notification
I never thought of sending them by registered post. Hopefully they will arrive ok with many others

Re: Pension increase notification
Being a bit thick? Do you not get the pension increase, if you don't receive a letter?

Post sent by tracked and signed service handled by Royal Mail is still being signed for by the postman/woman who makes the delivery to the Recipient address.
We send tracked mail multiple times a week and those which go to our regular customers are not signed for by them.
So basically, you can track it to the address but must hope it reaches the relevant people, which is fine if sending to a residential property but much more difficult to trace if within a multi-office building.
