I prefer not to use the this as yet another excuse to bash the Tories, merely because of party affiliations.

Do you have the details of this?

I've been trying to add a link without success for some reason.
If you Google Russian donations to Tory Party you will see certain Tory members were still receiving donations seven days ago.
There are some very good exposes on YouTube which ask a lot of searching questions about donations to the the Tory Party from certain Russian Oligarchs or watching the "Great Hack" on Netflix by Carole Cadwalder an investigative journalist may surprise you.
