Maximos Ranch Walking Tour

Post by Dominic »

Maximos Ranch, or Rancho Appaloosa to use its correct name, can be found to the north of Limassol. Just head for Kouris dam and keep going. It was abandoned about 20 years ago. This film is a mix of walking tour, drone footage and view from the car. It complements several blogs and a virtual tour.

There will be a blog and 360 virtual tour to follow, you lucky, lucky people!

No idea I am afraid. I think it went into decay at the end of the 90s though, judging by the literature and diary I found lying around. The maximosgroup website (now defunct) only goes back to 2003 itself. They must have had a different site name before that, because I can't imagine they would do a page for the ranch in 2003.

Thanks Dominic

It must have cost an absolute fortune to construct, with every facility imaginable for the equines and humans

Thanks Dominic. I thought the same as Yioula. All those facilities would have been very expensive. It would be interesting to know why it was built and why it was abandoned.
