Paphos Medieval Tower

Post by Dominic »

The other day I was out Christmas Shopping. I had parked in a side road near the Cyta Building due to the volume of shoppers around. I hadn't been down this road before, and was surprised by what I found down there. What do you think?

It is not a ‘Medieval’ tower! It was what remains of a windmill, built around 1860 or thereabouts by a business man from somewhere like Mykonos or somewhere like that (I cannot quite remember)! It was restored fairly recently by the Department of Antiquities I believe.

Upon reflection I think the merchant who built this windmill may have been from Chios.
