Hoping to give momentum to vaccinations against the coronavirus for children aged 5 to 11, the health ministry said on Thursday that it would operate additional vaccination centres on January 3 and 4, from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm.
Appointments can only be arranged online, through the vaccination portal, it clarified.
The centres that will be administering jabs to children are:
Nicosia – state fair, centre A and motherhood and child welfare centre at Latsia health centre where there will be an increased number of appointments;
Limassol – Spyros Kyprianou sports centre – centre A; motherhood and child welfare centre at the old Limassol hospital with an increased number of appointments;
Larnaca – motherhood and child welfare centre at the old Larnaca hospital with an increased number of appointments;
Famagusta – motherhood and child welfare centre at the Famagusta hospital with an increased number of appointments;
Paphos — motherhood and child welfare centre at Paphos general hospital where again there will be an increased number of appointments;
The ministry said that the vaccination centres will also administer jabs to individuals aged over 12 only after appointments on the vaccination portal for third doses of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech and walk-ins only for scheduled administration of second doses of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech, provided the first dose was administered at the same centre.
