Spam of a different type

Post by jagwheels »

I once worked with a guy who ate this every day for lunch but never tried it myself. Any members tried it?

But Spam sales hit record high for seventh year in a row. Over 8,000,000,000 since 1937 & still going strong

Had it as a kid, but I avoid prosseced food now, another odd thing, National food of Hawaii they love it there, due to the Yanks stationed there back in the day.

During the war, Spam became a perpetual joke. I think it was rationed on the "points" system. I remember we had it once and none of us really liked it. I have no idea whether it has improved since then!

In our UK based business Spam Fritter and chips is a very popular choice on our menu, by popular I mean hundreds of portions a week. 8-)
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !

Love it, one of our staples when I was a kid as it was cheap to buy.

From wiki
What is the full meaning of spam?
The name Spam was derived from a contraction of 'spiced ham'. The original variety of Spam is still available today, acknowledged as the 'spiced hammiest' of them all. During WWII and beyond, the meat colloquially became known in the UK as an acronym that stood for Special Processed American Meat
