Credit Card Small Business

Hi Guys

Can anyone advise the best option for us small business owners .

It’s announced today all small businesses must now take payment via a card , our question is where to get the machine and associated costs related to its use and operation .

Can the machine be used outside and without WiFi .

We are quite worried about this development.

Call JCC and register, you will be offered various card machines, if you are on the go/outside, there is mobile machines, all that is needed is internet connection ( I cant remember if it can be used like a telephone without internet)
, if you have a shop or office, there is a standard plug in machine, we pay a small yearly rental for our machines... then you pay a small % on sales this varies on your turn over, end of the day you press a button on your machine the transactions go through, and the money is in your bank accounts the following day, the only people who would have a problem with acquiring a machine are those you don't declare their earnings, thus fiddling their tax returns.

You don't need to use JCC, but they may be the easiest solution.

For instance, the Payment gateway on Paphos Life allows CC payments via any browser. This sort of setup is not trivial to build though. Understandably, our site had to jump through various hoops to get the required permissions. But companies like PayPal offer similar solutions.

Bottom line: check out what the fees are, and make sure you understand how anti fraud works, so you are covered if somebody buys stuff with a dodgy card.

Our bank (BoC) basically filled out the JCC form with us and organised everything. They were incredibly helpful and made the whole process very easy. JCC installed the unit soon after, again quick and easy. The whole process was far less painful than we were expecting.
