Lead Time for MEU interview

Post by Cheshire Lad »

Mrs CL and myself qualify for our free bus pass……Sorry, MEU3 / UK in September.

I’d prefer not to find out in September that there’s a 3 month wait for the interview.

Has anyone had recent experience of joining the queue. How far ahead would I need to contact Immigration to secure an appointment

Appointments can be made at the Immigration Department on-line.
Select English
Click on Make a Reservation / Book Now
Select Paphos
Select Third-country nationals or EU and UK CITIZENS and follow instructions from there

From this I see the first available appointment is 19 August 2021. Plenty of appointments available from 1 - 3 September.
That appears to be the last date at the time of checking, so every weekday have a look to see when your desired date comes up.
When we had been here 5 years for MEU3 reasons we made our appointment for 3 days later to give us ample time to get the relevant documents.
Good Luck!

Didn’t know that option was now available, definitely progress.

I had an appoinment for August but simply tried to go to immigration early enough to be the first "customer" in the morning with all documents required and was lucky enough that the kind lady accepted my application. That was in Larnaca though.

I didn't know about the appointments system at Immigration, it sounds like a very good idea.

BTW, the time for MEU's seems to have passed due to Brexit. Anyone applying now will be applying for a UKW1 or 3 as apropriate. It's a new biometric card, but its not an ID card, you need your Passport. It carries a lot of details about you, including your fingerprints. The UKW1 is valid for 5yrs, the UKW3 for 10years. It is credit card size and It costs €30.
