Free WI Fi

A while ago it was reported in the Cyprus Mail that the city would be covered by free wifi,does anyone know if this has happened? Only recently I've been in the harbour area and picked up Whatsapp messages,I'm not on roaming so just wondered if anyone else has had the same.Not seen any announcements in the paper.

Certainly, at least some inland areas of the city are not covered by free Wi Fi.

It's quite a while ago , but I think the " free WiFi " was only available to cyta subscribers, but I don't remember the details.

Correct , for certain areas of the tourist strip, in Larnaca , I would imagine its the same west side.

It was available last year all along Fig Tree Bay, not been this year, but as I have a Red plus package with Cytanet on 4G its not needed.
