I don't normally publish the daily figures but these ones are so good I thought I would make an exception.

Don't hold your breath, it seems we in the UK are being 'persuaded' to holiday here, instead of abroad.
Changing Cyprus from amber to green makes sense, but then that wouldn't keep UK money in the UK !

Me too, but it will be a cold day in hell before I take a holiday anywhere in the UK.Les Bean wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 3:55 pm
I think that's exactly what's happening

Vastly increased prices and no guarantee of weather.

Given that active cases are on the increase in the UK, I would imagine that alone is sufficient reason to deter people from travelling.

Thankfully I don't live anywhere near the 'hot spots'. Sadly one of my friends does, would I visit her right now, not in a million years.
The stories she tells make it obvious to me, and I expect many others, that those who have flouted the lockdown rules, all the way through will continue to do so, and so we will never win this battle.
The new Delta virus I understand, was first found in India in March, did we stop flights from India, no of course we didn't. That's too obvious a solution for the politicians to comprehend apparently. Neither have we stemmed the daily influx of illegal immigrants across the channel, that too, is beyond their understanding.
Then they have the nerve to tell us that we can't/shouldn't travel to destinations, such as Cyprus, in spite of Cyprus allowing us Brits to visit.
The natives here are becoming restless, and no wonder.

The natives still overwhelmingly back Johnson and his government of weak, inexperienced ministers. Nothing will change in the near or medium term. Johnson can lie, twist, change laws, break laws, treat the poor badly, ignore child poverty and all the rest, he can give titles to donors and generally conduct appalling business for a PM, but he still has overwhelming support in England.

Let’s blame Boris because there were only 29 cases in Cyprus!?Jimgward wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:25 pm The natives still overwhelmingly back Johnson and his government of weak, inexperienced ministers. Actually, the 29 new cases which were previously reported yesterday were only the result of the rapid antigen testing and not the full count. Unfortunately it turns out that there were actually 77 new cases, plus 2 deaths.
The remainder were the PCR tests which are tested separately, and many in the Govt hospitals.
This new listing can be seen on 'In Cyprus' website today.
