Coronavirus: Cabinet introduces Coronapass for access to venues after lockdown ends

The Pancyprian Retail Association (PASYLE) clarifies that you will not need to present the coronapass during the visit to the supermarket,
After communication of the Association with the Ministry of Health, it was clarified that the supermarkets are excluded from the coronapass, as well as the entire food sector, such as bakeries and patisseries.
He also said that the managers will not be responsible for controlling whether or not customers have the coronapass. It will be the responsibility of the authorities and that there will be no consequences for the stores.
This report is expected to be clarified at the press conference of the Minister of Health, which is scheduled for twelve today at noon.

Just read on Yahoo that they reckon visitors to the UK could henceforth face 10 hour delays at the airport of arrival, while Covid documents are checked. How does that work for families with young children, or elderly, disabled folks?

The trouble with governments is that they do not use common sense when imposing ill thought out, knee-jerk reaction rules and regulations. It's all about being seen to be doing something. It never works.

Having entered the UK a couple of times since the UK government implemented the arrival and departure rules, For those with a European passport it takes about one hour, with border control are checking the correct entrance forms and proof "receipts" that the two PCR test on day 2 & 8 are booked and paid for, the rest is the standard automated passport check.

With non-EU citizens it is about an hour longer due to the standard visa checks etc. on top of the above.

There is enough anecdotal evidence around to suggest that when you create silly, unenforceable rules, people ignore them and do their own thing anyway. A prime example is the rule requiring folks to pay £1,750 for a 7 day quarantine in a 3* UK government appointed hotel following arrival. By that logic, the drink-driving laws are silly and unenforcable, because people choose to drink / drive.

Which part doesn’t work? The airport certainly does….or did you mean yahoos scaremongering tactics? When a media outlet states “could happen”or “ might happen” 99 times out of 100 it’s just a load tosh for click bait and based on no evidence at all.

Yesterday I was speaking to a friend who’s partner flew to London on Sunday, from landing to getting in the car of the family member who was collecting was 55 minutes and that included waiting 10 minutes for person collecting them.

That is somewhat quicker than some of the times I’ve flown there, or anywhere for that matter.

The £1750 payable to quarantine in the UK, give over £1,000 to Serco, per person, to provide the bus to take the person to the hotel and the security at the hotel.... Even if, for 10 days, security for 2 guards was provided around the clock, at £400 per day per hotel, this is £4,000, so once 4 people are in quarantine, Serco starts to rapidly move into a huge profit.

Much of this money should have been paid to Border Security to up their service, otherwise lengthy queues will increase.
